A BOUTIQUE apartment development with Fortitude Valley’s vibrant laneway culture on its doorstep has taken off with the Gen Y market.
The Winn, a new development worth about $35 million, officially launched sales in late June and is due for completion by mid 2017.
The project has 63 apartments over eight levels as well as three ground floor retail tenancies and a rooftop recreation space.
There are 15 one-bedroom apartments with prices from $389,000, with the balance of stock two-bedroom, two-bathroom starting from $529,000. All apartments come with one car park and a balcony.
The development has 14 different apartment floorplans, with designs that offer options including study nooks and expanded balconies.
LJ Hooker Sunnybank Hills special projects salesperson Michael Crowther said The Winn’s difference was its walking distance to “everything the Valley has to offer”.
“I think it is ideal for the Gen Y who want to live in the heart of things,” he said.
Mr Crowther said interest had been strong following an online launch and the public opening of the sales display in late June.
“We’ve had about 25 per cent of the project sold or on hold (within two weeks of sales launch), and more and more interest through the website from interstate investors who are seeing the value in the complex and the rental returns on offer,” he said.
“With capital growth, Brisbane hasn’t really taken off the way Sydney and Melbourne have - we never do in the same time frame - so a lot of people in the industry are expecting fairly good growth in the next few years in Brisbane.
“That’s the type of thing people are starting to jump on board. Young investors from Sydney - I’m getting calls and website inquiries virtually every day.”
The developer is Chinese-based Royal Duke Developments, who also have upcoming projects in South Brisbane, Hope Island and Springfield.
