In the fourth season of ‘The Originals’, a 5-year time jump happened, allowing us to meet 7-year-old Hope. Season four brought Hope a lot of challenges; she had to learn to use her witch powers and was possessed by The Hollow. Hope will never have a normal life, being as she is a Mikaelson; however, Hayley and Klaus want her to be able to understand her family and embrace the powers she has been given. On the season finale, Hayley takes Hope to Mystic Falls to study at Alaric and Caroline’s school.
Prepare for an even bigger time jump, as ‘The Originals’ will return with season five, 10 years later. This can only mean we’ll be seeing a much older Hope and the actress playing her has finally been revealed. Danielle Rose Russell will officially be playing 17-year-old Hope, as a series regular. Season five will show Hope learning about magic and controlling her powers over the course of 10 years. Enough time to find a way of ridding The Hollow out of her family and being reunited.
Given the amount of time Hope has spent at the Salvatore Boarding School, she must have befriended Alaric and Caroline’s twins, Lizzie and Josie. They have all gone through so much and will be able to relate massively, so maybe we’ll even see an older version of them too? There are speculations that another spin-off might possibly be happening since the casting of Danielle, based around her time at school. Whilst we would absolutely love this, nothing has been confirmed.
Season 5 of ‘The Originals’ will be premiering on The CW, 2018.
