Tonight’s episode begins in Brighton, UK, 1998, Nigel is in the car with a young Meera Malik when a car comes up behind them. They get out and take someone out of the trunk and Malik says they are going home, hands them to the driver of the other car.
Present day, Siya is outside watching a building when Herbie shows up and joins her in the car. He asks her how her Reddington rear window stake out is going, she says he has been inside for 2 1/2 days now, she just watches him walk back and forth. Herbie updates her on the DNA search he has been doing, he didn’t find a mach for her profile. She says Meera still feels like her mother, she even followed her footsteps in her career and she is never going to find out the truth. Herbie tells her to ask Red, she tells him that Ressler told her to never ask Red for anything.
The next day, Hudson hasn’t heard back from Panbaker, so he makes an appointment with Congressmen Clayton Dorf, to go around her. Senator Dorf is not available for a month, Hudson is frustrated.
Malik fell asleep in the car, she has a knock at the window and Red brings her a juice, he tells her that he just got back from Mexico. He invites her inside.
Back to 1998, Nigel goes to see Malik and he has a black eye, she says they got to him. He says he needs a favor, he needs money, 100k. She can’t believe he is doing this. He needs her help to get the Chechens off his back. He can’t lose his job, his family over a few bad calls. All of a sudden, a baby is crying, Nigel says she wouldn’t want her bad calls affecting her job and her family’s security either, that would be a shame. He needs the money in 48 hours. He leaves and Malik goes to check on Siya in her crib.
Malik is inside Red’s place, he makes her a bite to eat and some coffee. She asks him why he is toting around bull horns, he says they belong to the legendary Islero, the Miura bull that killed Manolete, the matador. A month before he died, he told a Interviewer that they were asking for more than he could give. Manolete found it easier to risk his life than live a life without risk. She tells him that agent Zuma told her that he did a deep dive into her mother’s background, he says yes. He says what matters is that she was loved by her mother and her step father and nothing can change that. She says she knows that Meera wasn’t her biological parent. Cooper calls Siya, she tells him that she is with Red now. He tells her to stay there and find out whatever she can until they put this thing with Hudson to bed.
Red goes to see Ms. Cynthia Mallet, she tells him that she has all the items that he requested. She asks him why he is unloading his treasures, he says no cause for concern, he just wants to be more discerning. He gives her one of the artifacts as a thank you for everything she has done for him.
Back to 1998, Malik steals the money for Nigel. Nigel tells her that Chechens want more, interest. She tells him to go to his MI6 supervisor and come clean. He threatens her and says she has more to lose than he does with this.
Red and Siya are in a private jet, he pulls out a case that is filled with weapons and asks her if there is anything she likes, where they are going she won’t want to use her government issued service weapon and her name will be Janet Grimm, if anyone asks. The land and make their way to a building, Red goes inside a building and shots are fired, he comes running out a minute later and he and Siya take off. Back in the plane, Red says Liam took his sober years ago and it was long time past his getting it back. Siya can’t believe they flew to Scotland to get a sword. Red says it belonged to Captain Lewis Nolan who died in the charge of the Light Brigade during the Crimean war.
Zurich, Switzerland, Red is with Siya and they enter a room to where Heinrich Wittelsbach is sitting and says hello and he thought he would never hear from him again. Red asks for what he came for, Heinrich passes him a small envelope, Red hands him one in return. Red says he is calling Freddy and he is going to come and get the dog, in should be in a proper home.
Red’s next stop is an antique sale where he sells an authentic $20k lamp for $200.
Hudson meets Senator Dorf in a restaurant, he wants to talk about the Task Force. Hudson says they are burning through budget but he can’t find out anything about it. Dorf says the FBI is doing what they have to and people care only about safety. Hudson doesn’t think that way and he wants to find out what they are paying for. Dorf tells him to cut the crap, he just wants headlines.
Herbie is on the phone with Siya and she tells him that she is watching Red unload valuable antiques at his personal Antique Roadshow. A woman shows up that says Ms. Mallet sent her, Red says yes and gives her a stamp “The Sicilian Error of Color, 1859.” She says he can’t believe her eyes. One of only two in the world. She says her husband was obsessed with the stamp, but has passed. She says she cannot afford what the stamp is worth, she just wanted to see it. He says he is willing to offer it to her for $2,000, because he can’t imagine anyone else appreciating the stamp as much as her. She gives him a check and shows him a photo of her husband, it is Nigel, and she says she wouldn’t have traded him for a dozen Gregory Pecks.
Malik and Nigel are on a job, he is inside when she sees the target’s bodyguard goes back into the building. Instead of warning Nigel, she chooses to say nothing and Nigel is killed.
Cooper and Agnes stop by to see Pinkie, he has a soccer ball for Agnes, it is the ball that Pele used his first World Cup goal. He also has something for Cooper, an original plan for the USS Constellation, one of the six originals from 1794. Cooper asks if he is ok, he is wondering why he is giving away his irreplaceable possessions. Red says he is just having fun.
Senator Dorf drops by to see Hudson and says he kind of likes his style, he is going to think about partnering with him.
Red gives Siya her percentage of the days sales, he tells her it is a bonus in more ways than one.
Cooper tells Siya that she will have to continue keeping an eye on Red.
The cheque Red gave Siya is the one Kathleen Sutton, Nigel’s wife, gave to him for $2000.
