Most ladies are likely to opt for a longer hemline for a glam night out, but Mel went the other way as she partied with husband Stephen Belafonte at the showbiz bash.
Stephen looks on proudly - even pointing the cameras towards the daring split - as his wife looks red hot on the red carpet.
To the untrained eye it looked like Scary Spice had bravely gone commando under the silky red gown, but on closer inspection Mel seems to have a very flimsy thong on to protect her modesty.
Her film producer hubby was dressed more casually in black jeans and trainers.

The Spice Girls star has been furiously burning up the calories recently, posting the results of her gruelling workouts on social media.
