Kate Middleton Left Speechless When Asked This Question About Queen Elizabeth

Kate Middleton combined her love of kids with her love of the outdoors earlier this week when she made a solo visit to the King Henry’s Walk Garden in Islington – a London borough – to see how the community garden brings people together. Middleton and the kids made pizzas in an open-air kitchen, and when one little girl got curious about Royal pizza habits, she left Middleton speechless.

According to The Daily Mail, when 8-year-old Nadirah – a student at St. Jude’s and St. Paul’s Primary School – asked the Duchess of Cambridge if Queen Elizabeth eats pizza, she admitted that she didn’t know.

“That’s such a good question. I don’t know. Maybe next time I see her shall I ask?” replied Middleton.

The mom-of-three may not be sure about the Queen’s pizza opinions, but former Buckingham Palace chef Darren McGrady says he cooked for Her Majesty for eleven years, and he knows that she doesn’t like pizza because he never served her the Italian treat.

“The Queen didn’t even have it on the menu when we were in Palermo, Sicily on HMY Britannia. The chefs had to go ashore after royal dinner to try it,” revealed McGrady.

The chef did say that he started making pizza when he moved to Kensington Palace because William and Harry loved it when they were kids.

Middleton admitted during her garden visit that she does indulge on pizza every now and then, but instead of “spicy pepperoni,” her favorite topping is bacon.

Queen Elizabeth might not be a pizza fan, but McGrady did reveal that the monarch does have some unusual eating habits. He says that she loves dark chocolate (that’s her “favorite”), but she doesn’t like garlic because she hates the smell and the taste. In fact, she refuses to have it in her meals. And for breakfast, she keeps things simple with Kellogg’s cereal and Darjeeling tea.

McGrady also said that the Queen doesn’t always eat off of fine China, and instead would sometimes eat from Tupperware containers.

When McGrady was a Royal chef, he says that he would present the Queen with a menu book two or three times every week, and she would “put a line” through the meals she didn’t want to eat.

And, when it came to things like state banquets, the Queen would get really involved and oversee the entire menu because she loves to host events. McGrady says that the Queen especially loves food from the estate, and prefers “to see her own produce on the menu.”
