The Consequence of Sound reported this weekend that Jared Leto is reprising his role as the contested Joker for the reshooting of Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

This all comes after the news that Zack wouldn’t be doing any re-filming, which is obviously ironic because it was revealed that Zack was adding an entirely new character to Justice League, the Joker. Sources who spoke with The Hollywood Reporter claimed Leto is on his way to the set of Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

As fans know, Jared first appeared as the Clown Prince of Crime in the 2016 movie, Suicide Squad. This marks the second time Jared will work alongside Ben Affleck’s version of “Batman,” who made a small cameo in Suicide Squad.

Some of the actors who will appear in the updated version of the Justice League include Ray Fisher and Amber Heard, who portrayed Mera. Furthermore, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot have been rumored to appear in the new reshoot as well, but it hasn’t been confirmed.

Everyone knew Snyder would add some new villains to the movie, but the inclusion of Jared Leto‘s Joker has come as a surprise to fans of the comic book universe. Additionally, it’s been reported that Warner Brothers have given Synder another $70 million to work on the film.

In addition to adding Leto to the cast, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns won’t be returning as producers. Thus far, fans have expressed delight over the fact Berg, and Johns won’t be working on the Justice League movie, with most social media users arguing that Snyder should be given as much artistic freedom as he needs to make a great movie.

Regardless, Jared Leto’s Joker has been controversial since the start. When fans first got wind of Jared’s character, many were divided on Leto’s interpretation of the character.
